Cuba (cubaou) the « good and rich land » in the native lenguage Taina, welcomes you for 8 days to show you the beautiful landscapes of Pinar del Rio, tobacco region, La habana, the best place not only for biking!

Native people from Mexico and Cuba inspired us to create this new biking tour, we hope that you enjoy as much as we do.

Cuba Bike Tour Itinerary


Day 1: Arrival to Cancun

Our staff will meet you at the airport of Cancún and provide the transfer to the ECO hotel located in the jungle of Puerto Morelos. At night, once all the riders are in Cancun, we’ll share some information about the tour and provide equipment to the bikers that requested it, if you have your own equipment we’ll check that everything is working properly with it.


Day 2: Isla Mujeres

After breakfast at the hotel we’ll go riding to the pier of Cancun to get across to Isla Mujeres. This beautiful “women island” has a total of 15 km around and the name was given by spaniards because when they arrived they saw sculptures of woman that the ancient Mayan people built in a sanctuary to honor the life, fertility and moon that were represented with these female sculptures. We’ll visit the archaeological site, sacred place, as well we’ll go to the “north beach” to snorkel and get something for drinking and lunch.

Before evening we’ll go back to our ECO hotel to get ready for the next day.

Day 3: Río Lagartos

After breakfast at the hotel the van will transfer us to Ria Lagartos, protected area in the north of the península of Yucatán. Once we are there we’ll take a boat to navigate amount the channels. This place is really impressive, you are in touch with nature and local people. After this tour we’ll go to the hotel to check in. Later on, we continue to a local restaurant by the sea to get something for lunch, we suggest fresh sea food and a beer!!.

Enjoy the evening free in Ria and prepare your stuff to ride next day early.

Day 4: Ek-Balam & Cenote

Breakfast at the hotel. We start the day biking to the archaeological site of Ek Balam.

The north of the península has a lot of estuaries, great places for bird watching! You will see the real native mayan living in their small villages. Many traditional practices have been kept by the elders of the communities. The site of Ek Balam used to be the sacred pleace for iniciation of the Itzaes people, once they studied and got a grade of knowledge  then they were ready to go to the main celebrations and sky observations in Chichen Itza. After exploring Ek Balam we continue to the natural well of Xcanché. Tha mayan community manage this beauty as well as the ECO hotel U’najil, where we’ll stay this night.

Day 5: Chichen Itza

Breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning we’ll ride to the seven wonder of the world Chichen Itza, known as the ¨City of the Magicians” from the Mayan language. Discover the perfection of the temple Kukulkan and its relation with the sky. Early access let us take the most beautiful pictures of the zone, before all the crowds. After the archaeological site we’ll ride the bike or take the van, is up to you, to the colonial city of Valladolid, in this place you can clearly sea the mixblood people and the syncretism between catholic religion and the mayan rituals. We’ll stay tonight at Valladolid ECO hotel.

Day 6: Coba & Tancachha

Breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning we’ll ride to the tallest temple in the peninsula, Nohoch muul located in the site of Coba. This ancient place is one of the oldest in the area and was the city of the Mayan writers. In Coba was found the Stella 1 that tell us the “time of the era” 2012.  Once we explore the site we ride amoung the jungle to Tancachha cenote (natural well) to refresh ourselves and see the marvelous creation of nature. Then we continue by van (ride optional) to Tulum town. We’ll stay tonight at Tulum ECO hotel.

Day 7: Tulum & Akumal

Breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning we’ll ride to most beautiful archaeological site of Quintana Roo, Tulum. This ancient place has the perfect view to the caribbean sea. When the spaniards started the colonization they saw Tulum and described it as beautiful as Sevilla in Spain, being the last city so appreciated for them. After exploring Tulum we’ll ride to Akumal inlet to swim with the sea turtles. Later on we can go for lunch to Playa del Carmen or Puerto Morelos to finish the day in Cancun. We’ll stay tonight at Cancun downtown ECO hotel. Briefing about Cuba in the afternoon.

Day 8: Departure from Cancun to Cuba

After breakfast we’ll pick you up to the airport of Cancun. Our staff will assist all the group with the flight check in. 50 kg of luggage are allowed, the bike is considered part of the luggage. Once we arrive to La Habana the local guide welcome us.

The tour guides will assist the group with check in and luggage.

Day 9: Pinar del Río

After breakfast we’ll go by van to Pinar del Rio, west side of the island, known for the tobacco area plantations  and the rum distillery. Check in at hotel and enjoy a city tour after lunch riding your bike. The main activity of this city is the agriculture and education. You will find many restaurants called “Paladar”, and the most interesting part, is that the Cubans of Pinar, produce their own ingredients to cook! Enjoy the beautiful landscapes. This city has only 1 factory, so the most of the area is nature.   Breakfast & Dinner Included.


Day 10: Cayo Jutías

After breakfast we’ll ride our bikes to the Cayo Jutías, this small island is located in the north coast of Pinar del Río; the island is connected to the mainland by man-made causeway of 5 km long. This is an unforgettable view! Many mangroves species and ecosystems grow in the area, the sand color and texture are unique in this enchanting place. Swim and enjoy this amazing experience. In the beach we have the chance to rent a boat and get something for lunch (optional). On the way back to the hotel we can get in the van or ride our bikes.

Day 11: La Palma

Breakfast and transfer to the airport.

After breakfast we will ride our bikes to La Palma , year by year the people from La Palma celebrate the carnival in a very peculiar way, they all dress their most beautiful white clothing. To get here we take a rural road, beautiful and picturesque landscapes with untouched valleys. City of La Palma was witness of how Fidel Castro organized part of the Cuban Revolution.

We’ll enjoy a pic nic in this lush valley.

Day 12: Soroa

After breakfast we’ll ride our bikes to Soroa, place of great natural beauty and variety , considered a Biosphere Reserve in western Cuba . Visitors from around the world flock to this wonderful place to admire and enjoy the beautiful work that nature created in this rugged place surrounded by mountains and rivers

Day 13: Las Terrazas

After breakfast we’ll ride our bikes to Las Terrazas.

Las Terrazas was a milestone for the smooth integration of its architecture in an exceptional landscape, both for its natural and cultural values . The site develops a management plan aimed at the sustainable use of its resources , including tourism potential , and maximum utilization for the benefit of the community. In 2006 he was awarded the National Prize for Conservation . Breakfast and Dinner included.


Day 14: La Habana

After breakfast we’ll ride our bikes to La Habana.

Havana was elected on December 7, 2014 in Dubai, in the New7WondersCities initiative , as one of the seven great cities of the world to represent the global diversity of urban societyThe town hosts several cultural international events such as the Festival of Ballet in Havana Film Festival Havana Jazz Festival Plaza and the International Book Fair of HavanaBreakfast and Dinner included.

Day 15: End of the Tour

After breakfast and according to the flight information we’ll go to the airport of La Habana for departure flight to go back to Cancún Mexico.

Arrival to Cancun Airport. Our staff will welcome you back for any assistance and as well will receive the bike equipment (if you required it).

We Recommend Bringing

Comfortable clothes and shoes, insect repellent, sunblock (ecological), hat, sunglasses, swimsuit, towel, long sleeve cotton shirt, long cotton pants, impermeable jacket, hygienic personal stuff and (waterproof) camera.
