Explore the Maya Rivera in this amazing cycling tour. This tour is great for everybody who loves to cycle, whether you’re a recreational cyclisst or a tir-athlete. We recommend cyclists for this tour to be between 25 and 55 years old.
The terrain on this bike tour will be quite flat. The daily mileage will be between 38-62 miles (2-4 hours in the saddle). There’s an optional 10-mile island ride on the last day for those that have later flights. The support van will be available for any rider that needs a break throughout the day.
Day 1: Beach Day (No Cycling)
Transfer to Playa del Carmen and check-in in your the hotel. Then enjoy some beach time in Playa del Carmen along the Caribbean Sea followed by dinner in the town of Playa del Carmen, which has a wide variety of international oriented restaurants, as well as Mexican restaurants.
Day 2: Cozumel & Cycle
64Km (40 miles) – In the morning we will cycle down to the ferry (a short ride) and take a 40 minute ferry over to the beautiful island of Cozumel. You will enjoy the stunning views and well paved roads of Cozumel and swim in world renowned reefs. Cozumel is part of the second largest barrier reef system in the world and well known for it’s clear water excellent visibility. After relaxing and enjoying the reefs we will then have a van pick us up to take us to Tulum.
Day 3: Tulum, Cenote & Cycle
100Km (62 miles) – Cycle from Tulum to Valladolid town passing several maya villages between the great Maya jungle. Visit Tulum, the site of a pre-Columbian Maya walled city, and stop along the way to snorkel and cool off in the surreal setting of a natural cenote.
Day 4: Chichen Itza & Cycle
60Km (30 miles) – Cycle from Valladolid colonial town to Chichen itza archeological site, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Immerse youtselfin the local culture of Mayan villages and be impressed by many churches along the way. *Group dinner in Cancun (dinner included in package)
Day 5: Isla Mujeres & Cycle
15Km (10 miles) – Short ride around Isla Mujeres before departures (Optional).
