Enjoy a fantastic trip through the Yucatan peninsula World Heritage site areas. Discover the amazing Biosphere reserves of Siankaan, Calakmul and Rio Lagartos as well as the colonial cities of Campeche and Merida.

Learn and explore about the 2nd largest coral reef in the world, the amazing Maya jungle, the unique wetlands and obviously the wide biodiversity associated with this ecosystems. Discover the Maya culture. Past maya culture through amazing archeological sites such as Calakmul, Chichen Itza and present Maya culture and influence that resulted in adoption of Mayan communities and Mexican people in the colonial cities of Campeche and Merida. Overall enjoy fantastic nature, culture and soft adventure with the friendly Mexicans who will love to take care of you.

Day 1

Pick up in the international airport of Cancun.
Transfer to Puerto Morelos. Check in Ojo de Agua hotel or similar.

 

Day 2

Lecture on Coral reefs.Snorkel in national marine park of Puerto Morelos. Lecture on the Mayan jungle
Visit Botanical Garden to hike and enjoy learning about the Mayan jungle plants and animals.
Transfer to world heritage site Sian Ka’an
Check in Sian Ka’an visitor center.CeVi
°Optional marine turtle observation (only May – September)

 

Day 3

Lecture on Siankaan world heritage site. Kayak in the wetlands
Bicycling on the coastal dune.
Enjoy learning about Siankaan on the Museum
°Lecture on crocodiles. Ooptional crocodile adventure with NGO Amigos de Sian Ka’an

 

 

 

Day 4

Transfer to world heritage site Calakmul. On the way stop in Kohunlich archeological site.
Check in Chicanna eco village hotel.
Once on the hotel Lecture on bats. Enjoy looking at more than 25 million bats near calakmul area
At night enjoy a lecture on calakmul world heritage site.

Day 5

Visit the amazing Calakmul site learning about the Maya jungle and some unique wildlife of the area.
Transfer to world heritage site Campeche city
City tour discovering the colonial city
Check in Baluartes hotel.
Lecture on colonial cities.

 

Day 6

Transfer to world heritage site Merida colonial city
City tour of Merida colonial town (cathedral, government palace murals, market, Etc).
Check in del Gobernador hotel.

Day 7

Depart to visit the amazing Chichen Itza archeological site. Follow to Rio Lagartos
world heritage site Río Lagartos to enjoy a great day of bird watching ( flamingos, pelicans, cormorans, egrets, herons, etc, ). Follow to Cancun and check in rey del caribe hotel.

Day 8

Transfers to the airport depending on flights back.
