The Sian Ka'an visitor center is a model of sustainability in the state of Quintana Roo. It serves as an example for the rest of the Country as this is one of the first projects of its kind in Mexico.

The Visitors Center is located 11 miles south of Tulum town on Punta Allen towards Boca Paila Village by the coast road.

The Center is surrounded by tropical vegetation such as palms, mangroves, orchids and many others.
Here, you can enjoy a unique insight in one of the most important biosphere reserves of Mexico and the Yucatan Peninsula: “Sian Ka'an” (Mayan for “where the sky was born”), a world heritage.

KAYAKING IN THE WETLANDS

We use double or single kayaks to kayak in the Campechén lagoon and its pristine water. Travel through the ancient mayan channels or kayak in the sea and snorkel the reef to discover the unique tropical fishes that inhabit here.

NIGHT KAYAKING

Enjoy a fantastic kayak tour through the wetlands around the Sian Ka'an reserve. We see fauna and sometimes even spot crocodiles! Trips run from 08:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

KAYAKING & BIRDWATCHING

An excelent oportunity for bird watching lovers to observe and photograph birds. The protected areas of the Yucatán peninsula provide the ideal place for 87% of the recorded species and for the 88% of the 186 migratory birds. Trips run from 07:00 am to 09:00 am.

General Information:

• Children under 10 years pay only 70 % of the price.
• Minimum age recommended is 4 years.
• EcoColors tours capacities are limited to preserve the intimacy of our adventures. Minimum is 6, maximum is 10 guests.
• We recommend to bring the following items with you: Long sleeve shirts, short pants, baggy trousers, thick socks, field boots, thick tennis shoes, sandals, light rain coat, handkerchiefs, personal items, hat, sunglasses, towel and swim suit. Also, equipment like: camera and extra film or memory card, insect repellent or citronella, binoculars, a canteen, backpack, field knife, first aid kit and hand or head lamp as well as ++ batteries.
