Bicycle the Zapotec and Mixtec route!
EcoColors is conducting this tour for the Bicycle Adventure Club (BAC). All participants must be members of the BAC.Oct. 30 - Nov. 9, 2008

The bike tour will be conducted by EcoColors which is based in Mexico and has provided support for many previous BAC tours in the Yucatan, Tabasco, and Chiapas. The rides are normally about 50 miles or less in a mountain area, BAC rating 2B. However there are a few days that the ride length is about 60 miles. We meet in Oaxaca on Oct. 30 and leave Oaxaca Nov 9. These dates are non-riding days. Transfers to and from Oaxaca airport are included. |

.The first days of riding will be fixed base out of Oaxaca. We will visit Monte Alban, a pre-Columbian Archeological site and the Santo Domingo Ex-convent. We will also be In Oaxaca to experience the colorful and magical celebrations related to the Day of the Dead. We ride to El Tule which has the largest tree trunk in the world. We will be biking through scenic landscapes of the mountains and valleys of the Mexican Sierras, visiting small towns such the birth place of Benito Juarez and sampling regional cuisine. During the last few days, we move to the south of Oaxaca to ride in a varied terrain of bush desert and agricultural area in the central valley. We stay overnight in towns that are scenic and rich in culture. We also visit the archeological site, Zaachila, the second Tenochtitlan.
The estimated cost of $1500 includes breakfasts, dinners and admissions to tourist sites. The deposit is $500 and the balance is due at the end of August. After indicating your interest you will be informed as to where to send the deposit.
