Christopher and Anna , 30/01/2008 18:23 Hello Ecocolors, I just wanted to thank you for making our vacation to the Yucatan Peninsula last week (1/21-1/25) a vacation that we will remember for a long time. Between the Crocodile Adventure on Monday 1/21/08 with Eduardo and Cristopher and the Multisport Adventure on Wed 1/23/08 with Cristopher, we had so much fun. Both my wife and I were so impressed with your tour guides. They were professional, knowledgeable and fun. It was also clear that they really care for the environment of Sian Ka'an and the people of the Yucatan peninsula. They truly are ambassadors of your company and your country! We can't wait until we come back to the Yucatan. We are definitely going to use Ecocolors again in the future for our ecotours of Mexico. Additionally, we took some pictures during our two tours that we think your tour guides, Eduardo and Cristopher, and Eduardo the Crocodile Biologist from Amigos di Sian Kaan would like a copy of. We would be happy to share them but we failed to get an e-mail address from them. Can you let me know where I can send the pictures (e-mail address?) so that both Eduardo and Cristopher and Eduardo from Amigos de Sian Ka'an would be able to receive them? Eduardo was really knowledgeable, knew exactly where to go for the best birds and all the bird calls, and I will be saving up to come back and do the boat day at Sian Ka’an and other bird watching tours with your company. Most importantly, Eduardo is passionate about bird watching and we need more people like that in the world. We saw 37 species that day including Toucans and Anis and when I returned to the hotel, there was a Townsend’s Warbler flying around on my balcony! We see those warblers up here in Vancouver. Thanks also, Eduardo, for bring me to that restaurant for a delicious and hearty breakfast. What a wonderful day! Please send me the names of the birding books that Eduardo used that day. I could not find any books on my day in Playa del Carmen and did not get up to Cancun. I would like to try to order those books through our book sellers here. The crew was very professional and informative, respectful of both the people and the whales and knew their work quite well. It was completely fantastic! This was a strenuous trip, with lots of paddling, swimming, hiking and sightseeing. Your staff was absolutely fantastic. It was a huge pleasant surprise to arrive at the visitor centre after the first day of paddling about 26 km, to be presented with a gourmet meal - prepared by Daniel (sp?). You better watch that he does not get attracted to one of the fancy restaurants in Playa del Carmen or Cancun While we enjoyed many experiences, the treatment never deteriorated from that high standard. I am very busy now with much work piled up during my absence, but I wanted to commend you and your excellent team - Marcos, Daniel , Juan Carlos, Marie Huncal, and Kristen - as well as the boat drivers. You have a wonderful group of individuals who all contributed to a marvellous experience for each of the members of our group. No doubt you will hear further from each of us. Jim 03/03/2005 TOP Hi Maryann- Just wanted to let you know we had a wonderful!!! trip. Everything went very smoothly. The hotels were fine, and the itinerary worked well for us. Our one change, one less day in Merida and an overnight stay at Chichen-Itza also worked well, and I would strongly recommend such a plan to other travelers. Mid-day at the ruins is very hot and crowded with tour busses. We only stayed a short time the first day and then spent the rest of the day swimming. We went back early the next morning. We have seen more than 400 bird species, including rarities such as Sierra Madre sparrow, Blackpolled yellowthroat, Rosita's bunting, Stricland's woodpecker, Ocellated turkey, Cozumel wren, Cozumel vireo, Cozumel emerald, just to mention the most important ones. We have visited beautiful archeological sites from Chitzen Itza to Monte Alban, but the most spectacular was Calacmul situated in the middle of the undisturbed jungle. The car was working well, the people were nice. My children and I travel a lot and I must tell you, Juan Carlos, as you know, is an excellent guide. He is so knowledgeable about everything in the area, plants, animals, geography everything. He read us an entire article, in English I might add, about the Meteor Shower, and because of his extra effort, we were able to really enjoy it more fully. Daniel, is an excellent cook. I would have liked seeing more wildlife, but there was just so much we could fit into one trip with the number of days we had, and I would not have given up anything. George is a special guide, well organized, and knowledgeable about nature and Mayan civilization. He made the tour twice as much fun. The meal at the end, also, was excellent. The group was very small, 6 people, and Eduardo´s enthusiasm and knowledge on the subject made it an extremely memorable experience. While there, we got to work with three excellent guides: Kenneth, Jorge, and Pedro. They were really knowledgable about the area, and its people.
