Arrival at Oaxaca and departure to your hotel. This wonderful city is located in the center of the central district of the State; the southern part of the country. Oaxaca, the historic home of the Zapotec and Mixtec people, contains more people who speak indigenous languages than any other Mexican state.

Cycle from Oaxaca to Montealban archeological site. Monte Albán is a large pre-Columbian archaeological site in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca. The site is located on a low mountainous range rising above the plain in the central section of the Valley of Oaxaca. Today' s capital, Oaxaca City, is located approximately 9 km (5.6 mi) east of Monte Albán. Visit the site and then bike to Atzompa town where you can watch the production of green clay handcrafts. After visiting the market and stores, bike back to Oaxaca. 26 km biking. In the afternoon city tour including a visit to the Santo Domingo Church which is located next to the Santo Domingo Ex-Convent and Cultural Center. This is propably the most impressive church in Mexico. The exterior faces a large esplanade where rows and rows of an unusual desert succulent are planted. This is located at the corner of Alcalá and Cinco de Mayo Street in Oaxaca City. The Temple and ex-convent of Santo Domingo, seat of the Dominican Order in Oaxaca since the 16th century,form a stately and imposing complex of amazing beauty and interest. Enjoy the day of The Dead in Oaxaca. In all of Mexico, The Day of the Dead was once a very important religious holiday. Over the years this holiday has been replaced by more commercial rituals. However, traditional celebrations of the Day of the Dead are still respected in Southern Mexico, where indigenous customs and traditions are still very much alive. In Oaxaca City, the merging of Pre-Hispanic and Catholic cultural and religious traditions ensures a colorful and magical experience.

Biking to San Antonio Arrazola (town where many wood handcrafts are produced). Be amazed by the handmade art produced in this town. Afterwards, we are biking to Cuilapam where we vist an impressive church. Next, our bike tour takes us to Zaachila to enjoy the lively market. This is followed by a visit to the town of San Bartolo Coyotepec where the famous Oaxaca black pottery is produced. Afterwards we return to Oaxaca.

Cycling to- El Tule tree. This is a giant tree located on the church grounds in the center of the town of Santa María del Tule. This impressive natural attraction is located approximately 9km east to the city of Oaxaca on the road to Mitla. The tree is called Montezuma Cypress (Taxodium mucronatum) or Ahuehuete in the Nahuatl language. Afterwards, we are biking to Teotitlan del Valle where colorful craft is produced and sold. Afterwards, we depart to Mitla town and check in at your hotel. Visit the archeological site which is located in the town of San Pablo Villa de Mitla. The town is famous for its pre-Columbian Mesoamerican buildings. Overnight in Mitla.

Cycle to the town of Ixtlan. After 17 km we face a long (11 km) and steep climb to La Cumbre (again van support will be provided for those of you who prefer this option). After that it goes downhill at the la Cumbre, however, shortly before Ixtlan there is another uphill section. Finally, we arrive at Ecoturixtlan and relax in the cabins in the mountains. Today, we will be passing the town of Guelatao. That is a small town where Benito Juarez was born. Benito Juarez is to the Mexican what George Washington is to the US.

Cycle back from Ixtlan to Oaxaca. So first we will cycle downhill, then steep uphill, to finally bike downhill again. (here again van support will be available). Arrival at Oaxaca and overnight in Francia hotel.

- Van transfer to the airport for your return flight.
